Writing from a Kansas Farm

Since I was a child, writing has been my favorite pastime.  I never gave much thought to publication, I simply loved to write, especially poetry.  When I began to have an urge to write a children's novel, my favorite literary genre, I began to dream of publication.  Poetry will always be the major venue for my writing.  So, of course, I have included poetry pages on this website.

As a farm wife and mother of four grown children, my life is simple but full.  My husband, Dwayne, raises cattle, wheat, corn and soybeans.  The photos on my website are of our beautiful Southeast Kansas landscapes and the background photo is of one of our stormy skies.

We now have fifteen grandchildren, including two who were recently adopted, and one born in May 2016.  Each of them is truly amazing!

For more than twenty years, I have worked in our local small town school with children who have learning disabilities.  My love for children and for children's literature has grown stronger with the passing of each year.  I am a fan of children - all shapes, sizes, and quirks.
