Were I too shy to say, “Hello,”

And you too shy as well,

Our thoughts would be unspoken

As we hid within our shells,

I could not come to know you

Nor you to befriend me -

Forever we would be denied

The joys of amity.

But when fortune smiles upon us,

There are those who come along

Who crack our shells and teach us

How to share our private songs.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD

When I was a child, an enchantment for literature transported me to far away and imaginary places.  It broadened my vision, and as a result, my passion for writing was born.

For many years, I poured that passion into stories and poetry and never considered penning a novel.  For most of my life, I have been a busy farm wife and mother of four children.  Poetry consumed as much time as I could manage to spare.  As my children grew up and left home to forge their own lives, I began to consider a more serious writing endeavor.  Thus, Old Mac came into being.

As an adult, my favorite literature continues to be that written for young people.  Therefore, Old Mac had to fall into that category.  At long last, my first book, Old Mac: Now You See Him, Now You Don't, is finished.  It has been an incredible labor of love and learning.  It is a pleasure to be able to share Old Mac with all of you!
